Kerloudan VYV3 nursing home
At the Kerloudan residence, as in many nursing homes, the end of the Covid crisis acted as a catalyst for change. Between HR tensions and an aging Nurse call system, the establishment had to rethink its organization. The arrival of Orikio in 2022 marked a real turning point: not a simple technological modernization, but a profound transformation in the quality of care and the work of teams.

Presentation of the establishment
The Nursing home, the multi-site day care centers and the Kerloudan CRT are part of the VYV 3 Bretagne group. Located on the seafront in Ploemeur, near Lorient, the hotel enjoys a privileged setting with a vast 5,000 m² park. The facility has developed an approach attentive to the quality of life and support (bar open outside, supermarket...). An early adopter of Orikio, the Kerloudan nursing home is a pioneer in the integration of AI at the service of residents and teams.

Before the deployment of Orikio, teams were facing several challenges…
A Nurse call system that was aging and inadequate, with only 18 out of 95 residents able to press their wearable call button. Result: undetected risk situations and partial safety of residents, which are not very compatible with security constraints and increased attention to the quality of life in Residential Care Facilities.
In a post-Covid context marked by recruitment difficulties, teams had to deal with routine rounds to compensate for the limits of their Nurse call system. An operation that is time-consuming, energy-consuming, and poorly aligned with the desired quality of support.
Beyond a simple change of tool, the facility wanted to transform its organization: gain in responsiveness, efficiency, be in the right place at the right time, while reconciling safety and quality of life. Orikio emerged as an opportunity to make this shift and to engage in a new dynamic: that of a more modern, more serene and refocused on support and the core of the nursing profession.

The benefits observed led the facility to be fully equipped.
Full replacement of the Nurse call system
Orikio is deployed day and night at the Kerloudan nursing home.
Every night
now reallocated and transformed into support time.

Strengthened security and better detected critical situations
As soon as Orikio was established, the safety of residents took a decisive step forward. The teams were able to detect critical situations that were previously invisible, such as respiratory distress or vomiting, allowing them to intervene in time, until saving the life of a resident. The blind spots associated with unworn wearable call button have disappeared and the responsiveness in the event of an event has improved significantly, bringing real relief to families and professionals alike.
A redesigned organization, especially at night
Orikio has transformed the organization of care, especially at night. Routine rounds have been abolished, avoiding waking up residents unnecessarily. The time previously spent on checkpoints could be reallocated to more targeted and relevant support. This evolution has improved both the comfort of residents and the efficiency of the teams.
A strong impact on the core of the business and HR attractiveness
Thanks to the data provided by Orikio, transmissions have become more concrete, more targeted and more useful. The teams now have valuable information, in particular on the quality of residents' sleep, making it possible to fine-tune support. This improvement in working conditions has strengthened the quality of interactions between caregivers and residents, while reassuring families about the safety of their loved one. The impact is also visible on the attractiveness of the facility: on the equipped site, recruitment is facilitated, with temporary workers seduced by the comfort and meaning found in their work.
Voices from the field
“I fell, I screamed for help, and right away there was an intervener.”

“Thanks to Orikio, we were able to improve the accuracy and completeness of our transmissions by identifying sleep problems in some residents, which allowed us to adjust our care.”

“It is a security for the residents and for the family. This device is a great moral support, it relieves their concerns.”

Their key takeaways
Orikio has contributed to the revaluation of the entire Nursing home ecosystem. The work of caregivers is better recognized, the organization more fluid and the image strengthened among families and professionals. More than a service provider, Orikio has become a real partner in this transformation. The solution goes beyond security alone: it restores pride and attractiveness to the site. In a word: Adding value.
