The “Grand Ouest” home, which welcomes disabled people in Beaurepaire (Isère), has been equipped for several months with an artificial intelligence process to detect unusual sounds.

It looks like a smoke detector. Screwed to the ceiling, and connected to an internet connection, the “Augmented Ear” device is discreet, but effective, according to Jean-Baptiste Mïs, director of Foyer Grand Ouest de Beaurepaire, in Isère: “it's useful to us every day.” In this medical establishment that welcomes disabled people, 85 guestrooms have been equipped with this box. A dozen are also installed in the corridors.
